Quick Holiday NARS Lip Gloss and Guerlain Gloss D'Enfer Maxi Shine Swatches

Recently I am very much into Guerlain. This is a new discovery for me, as I thought things can't get better than Chanel, I was wrong. Things do get better. Every makeup item from Guerlain I have tried so far works so well for me, I can't rave them enough. On the other hand, NARS still remains one of my favourites. I have done some lip gloss swatching recently!

First up is Guerlain Gloss D'Enfer Maxi Shine Lip Gloss. All numbers are labeled in the picture! These are all permanent.

My Fall Look!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Before y'all throw tomatoes at me for being MIA for eternity, I'd like to say that yes! That was my fault. But always look on the bright side of life. That is, I am back. After a long summer being away and super busy, I finally have time to write a blog! Since it's the end of September, what time better to write a brand new fall look post?

Sephora's Current 500 Point Perk - NARS Cult Favorites

I have saved my Sephora points for a very long time. Sometimes I will redeem one or two 100 point perks, but I don't think I have ever redeemed for a 500 point perk. Most of those 500 point perks look pretty stingy and cheap from a company like Sephora, considering that people like us spend hundreds of dollars in their store every year. And really, this is kind of like a gift-with-purchase when you accumulatively spend 500 bucks.

Anyways, other than the full size Benefit Coralista from several years ago, this is the first one that I think is worth getting. This is just out today (by today I really mean yesterday, as it is like..3:00 am right now), and I had to go in to get them. I know they are all minis, but the blush itself contains 4g of product, while a full-sized Nars blush contains about 4.5g of product, so this mini is kind of full size in a mini container. The lip crayon and the eyeliner each contain exactly half of the full sized products.

To be honest, when I opened these, their tininess did shock me a little. Especially the blush. It is literally a mini. But I digress, you can't judge things entirely on the size of their containers!

Bronzer Obsession Series: Nars Casino

I like how everyone is trapped in the craze for Laguna.

While Laguna is great, I only think it is good used as a bronzer. If you contour with bronzers, and you have a warm undertone, how's Laguna good?!

Now, before you decide to throw stones at me, I need to clarify something. I have a lot of red undertone in my skin, and my skin is ultra sensitive. A slight touch on my face will turn that entire area red, and I embarrass so easily! And when I turn red, I don't turn pink, I turn tomato red.

So for me, naturally, when I was on my search for a contour, I was worrying what everyone else was worrying, I do not want to look like an orange. I mean a tomato and an orange just don't go well together. So I looked into Laguna and almost bought it, because everyone raves how it has no orange at all, how it is a golden brown that is excellent for fair skin's contour.

Except, of course, when I put it on at Sephora, it was...yellow. I am not exaggerating at all. It appeared that I have a dark yellow patch on the side of my face. It was dead obvious that I wanted to contour but uh..failed. Honestly I was puzzled, how did that happen?

Then I saw Casino, it is not by any means darker in the pan, just warmer. What the hell, I'll give it a try too, and I did. And guess what, it looked a lot more natural on me. Though slightly more orange toned than that golden beige brown that Laguna has, it appears much more like a shadow of my own, instead of an obvious use of cosmetics to create a dirty looking hollow.

NARS Sheer Glow

Have you heard me say this before? BEST since sliced bread?

This is the best in the history of makeup. I rate foundation based on invisibility. Because the last thing I want is someone standing half a meter from me and can see foundation on my face. So I always base my rates on foundation by a. INVISIBILITY and b. decent coverage. In my hunt for the HG, I have only encountered two of them. One is Clinique Even Better foundation, the other is Nars Sheer Glow.

But perhaps Nars Sheer Glow is better. Clinique Even Better is very very moisturizing, the texture is like creamy whipped cream. It is very soft and smooth, but not runny. When you put it on is like putting moisturizer on. It gives the most gorgeous glow EVER, and has excellent excellent pigmentation and coverage. Makes skin ever so soft. But because it is so moisturizing, it will move around by mid day, and your pores will become visible because at each pore, the foundation will ball-up, forming tiny round molecules at the pores. This happens due to the oils in your pores pushing forward at the foundation. It's not a good sight.
