Summer MAC Blush Swatches

Oh my God. I've been gone for literally a million years. Hi everyone haha! And sorry! I've been very busy, and most of my free time was only available for making some YouTube videos, so this blog was totally neglected.

Now that I am back, I think a great way to kick start my summer blog posts is to post some swatches of some useful things. Now I am a blush hoarder (no secret), so some blushes from MAC should do the trick. These blushes are my favourites from MAC, but they are also mostly summer favourites, since I love to wear more blush in the summer!

My favourite blushes from MAC are: Legendary, Hang Loose, Pinch o' Peach, Blushbaby, Melba, and Margin.

Bronzer Obsession Series: Guerlain Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder Review, Comparison and Swatches

Hello lovelies, how are y'all doing? Recently I am very much into the brand, as I repeated myself over and over again. Everything from Guerlain is so luxurious, so beautiful, and works so so so well on me. Today, I just want to talk about some Guerlain bronzers for you!

I am always very obsessed with bronzers. I only have some staple ones to contour, such as Nars Laguna and Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil. Laguna for winter, and Milk Chocolate for summer. They are the bronzers I am currently hitting pan on. These do have a more brown and yellow undertone.

The rest of the bronzers I have are either orange or red. Those I use as a blush + bronzer hybrid. For convenience in the morning, and also just for the great pick-me-up effect they give my face.

Now these Guerlain Terracotta Light Bronzing Powders are the ones I will use to add colour to my face. Especially in winter. It makes you look healthy and glowy without having a vacation!

Bronzer Obsession Series: A Snow Bunny indeed...

Hi all, as we are stepping into winter, I'd like to share my new favourite bronzer with you. I am a bronzer fanatic... My all time favourite is the Too Faced Milk Chocolate, but here is another one from Too Faced that I absolutely love for winter. Honestly, I think I love all the bronzers from Too Faced. To me, it is one of my favourite brands, take away the kiddish packagings...

It is the Snow Bunny bronzer. With this, I can pretty much just brush it on and go. It is like a blush + bronzer for me. I am very fair (NC15), on darker skintones I'd say this is more like a highlighter.

Blush Obsession Series - Mac Marilyn Monroe Blush Comparisons

First of all, long time no see. As a person in deep obsession with blushers, I have gotten both blushes from the Marilyn Monroe collection. The eyeshadows were too cool-toned, the dazzleglass too transparent, and I am not good with red lipsticks. The beauty powder really didn't do it for me, although I almost got it for the compact, then later labeled myself ridiculous for wanting to pay that much for a cosmetic container. I am pale, and the beauty powder is probably just going to be a finishing powder for me. That may or may not be an advantage. I decided not.

However, the point of this blog post is that I just want to quickly relieve some of you panic-stricken girl's paranoia, since the blushes and almost everything else in this collection sold like crazy and are all gone before the blink of an eye. But, here are dupes, so don't be too sad if you didn't snatch one.

First of all, The Perfect Cheek's dupes. This one is a little tough, all the dupes I could think of turned out not to be exact dupes, but they come close on the face. Ignore other swatches, I went a little crazy. This is the first time I edited the pictures on my phone, since I was so busy lately, I kind of did it while waiting for the train. It may look a little different than previous pictures.

Back of my hand is NC20

Blush Obsession Series: MAC Solar Ray Mineralized Blush

I promised myself no more blushes, but I went to MAC pro to return something, and their Heavenly Creature Collection is out already in the back, and as usual, they took me to see it, and as usual, I bought something. This really needs to stop, as you know..technically I am supposed to be out of my makeup phase. (Clearly not...)

Anyway, as usual, MAC's mineralized collection is a feast to look at, and a horror to swatch, because the shimmer gets everywhere. I am not keen on mineralized skin finishes, I find them quite useless, beautifully packaged shimmer that end up about the same on the face (with exceptions, but the lighters ones seem similar to me). I don't like their mineralized eyeshadows, they are pretty to look at, bulky to take with, and chunky to apply.

But I am usually in love with their blushes. Sometimes they are packed with pigment, sometimes they are packed with pigment and dazzling shimmer. I like matte blush more now a days, but once in a while, a little bling is great.

Blush Obsession Series: MAC Full of Joy

Say, I haven't been to MAC in a long time. I'm kind of out of the makeup-phase. But my obsession with blushes has not yet ended. When MAC had the Tres Cheek collection out, I was drowning in massive finals, so I couldn't go to MAC. Today I finally went. I thought for once, ONCE, I am not all over a MAC collection like, a week early, in the pro store, so for once, I get to buy things late, they shouldn't sell that fast anyway. Turns out I was wrong..they do go fast...  I really wanted Immortal Flowers, ended up with Full of Joy, a very spring colour no? Last one in store too, a lonely lavender child and no one really wanted.

My iPhone camera is surprisingly good! I didn't even have to edit it much, full on HD too!

Blush Obsession Series - MAC Margin Blush

Now that Summer is just around the corner, I have switched to more bronzy blushes. I used to despise orange bronzy blushes, I always loved pink and rose and all those girly stuff, orange makes me think of tarnish overbronzed girls you see in Magazines or ads that normally, normally, people in real life don't want to look like.

But like I said many many times before, women are complex and weird species. We can one day hate something to the depth of our bones, and the next day loving it more than ever before.

MAC Margin. Nars Orgasm's older, maturer, bronzed and oversexed sister. How sexy exactly? I could have NEVER, EVER, EVER picked this up in the MAC store. I'm more of a Pinch o' Peach kinda person. So this orange bland shimmery bronze colour could never catch my eye. Only my friend knows me so well, they get me the most awful yet most suitable to me colours.

A orange peach is how I would describe it, with the finest mill of gold shimmer, very frosty I assure you, but very glowy. The kind of glow that is almost not natural, almost shiny, but not yet there. When it is on the face, you cannot see any glitter or any shimmer, just very prominent golden glow on a peached bronze base.

Pigmentation is INTENSE, and this one reminds me of Cargo blushes. Soft and buttery and creamy texture, just a dab of brush in the pan will bring up enough pigmentation and product for both cheeks. Especially you are from NC20 - NC25. I don't recommend anyone paler than NC20 to use this, because this could turn clownish. Lasting power however, reminds me of NARS, a total all day wear.

Bronzer Obsession Series: Nars Casino

I like how everyone is trapped in the craze for Laguna.

While Laguna is great, I only think it is good used as a bronzer. If you contour with bronzers, and you have a warm undertone, how's Laguna good?!

Now, before you decide to throw stones at me, I need to clarify something. I have a lot of red undertone in my skin, and my skin is ultra sensitive. A slight touch on my face will turn that entire area red, and I embarrass so easily! And when I turn red, I don't turn pink, I turn tomato red.

So for me, naturally, when I was on my search for a contour, I was worrying what everyone else was worrying, I do not want to look like an orange. I mean a tomato and an orange just don't go well together. So I looked into Laguna and almost bought it, because everyone raves how it has no orange at all, how it is a golden brown that is excellent for fair skin's contour.

Except, of course, when I put it on at Sephora, it was...yellow. I am not exaggerating at all. It appeared that I have a dark yellow patch on the side of my face. It was dead obvious that I wanted to contour but uh..failed. Honestly I was puzzled, how did that happen?

Then I saw Casino, it is not by any means darker in the pan, just warmer. What the hell, I'll give it a try too, and I did. And guess what, it looked a lot more natural on me. Though slightly more orange toned than that golden beige brown that Laguna has, it appears much more like a shadow of my own, instead of an obvious use of cosmetics to create a dirty looking hollow.
