REVLON Colorstay Eyeshadow Quad

Looong time no blog!! I am currently out of town in the States doing a music program, thus have been very busy lately, and have 0 time for myself. But alas, today I went home early, and decided to do a blog on the two quads I bought here. They are the Revlon Colorstay quads.

The colours I have are 500 Addictive and 520 Brazen.

Here are close shots of the shadows.

And here are the swatches.

500 Addictive

520 Brazen

Okay, these are not terribly horrible, but you can tell already that these are not going to be my favourite drugstore shadows. The pigmentation is very inconsistent between the 4 colours in each quad. Then the consistency is nothing to note about. However, they do have good lasting power. These has more of a dry texture.

The 500 Addictive is a more matte quad, in a cool tone. The shadows are very silky, the light beige colour and the two darker colours has better pigmentation than the light grey. The light matte grey is barely noticeable when applied, slightly dusty and chalky, and it is relatively similar to the light beige colour. I do think these are not bad for a drugstore matte quad though.

The 520 Brazen has something to be complained about. First of all, the light gold and the light peach are very chunky as you can seen in the swatch. When you apply these, they are okay, but as you blend them, they become increasingly sheer and sparkly. They contain relatively large glitter flecks. However, the darker copper shade and the dark plummy brown has phenomenal pigmentation and are extremely smooth. They are almost identical in pigmentation and texture to MAC eyeshadows at MAC's best state.

Overall I don't recommend them, but they are not that bad either. If you catch these on sale, maybe you can give them a try!

Thanks for reading guys, hope you all have a great week!

xx
